wig class

The wig class on saturday was a really awesome opportunity. It was really cool to see how passionate Denis was about what he did. The way he handled the wigs was almost as if they were his children. He sculpted the hair so precisely and knew exactly where each piece of hair would go. This gave me some good ideas for my final project because I plan on using a wig.

synthetic hair holds the curl better

It actually looked pretty realistic other than the hair sticking out of the sides

Soaping out the eyebrows... wow I look rediculous

eyebrows are kinda important

scar

Healing cut

Fresh cut

adding wet blood

adding other scars to enhance

This light blended it the best

The hardest part of doing the scar was blending it to the skin. It was very difficult to make the netting disappear into the skin. When we put it on the face I had to cut it down in order to fit it to the cheek. Because of this it was harder to make the edges blend away. I added cuts and bruises to the face to enhance the look of the scar. If I were to do this again I think I would put a different type of scar on the right side of my face. To me it looked a little to symmetrical to be realistic. I would also probably make the scar a lot smaller to be able to fit it to the face and make it easier to blend.

bruises

mixing on the arm... It didn't wash off right away after and looked like a real bruise

mixture of purple and red

ouch!

I loved working on the bruises. It was really cool to see how realistic we could make them. It was also really neat to actually see the strange coloring of the skin. I knew there were blacks and blues but you don't notice the yellows and purples as much. When putting it on my face it was different from the other makeup applications we had done on the face. Rather than blending most of it away into the skin it looked more realistic to leave saturated colors on the face. I think I'm gonna try to fool some people by sending them my pictures.

Open wound for next class. This is one of the only ones I could look at without getting grossed out. Yuck!
